Description
This handwritten letter, postmarked November 11, 1944, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. while he is at sea on his way to Europe to his parents, W. N., Sr. and Catherine F. Bogan in West Point, Mississippi. The letter is multiple notes combined into one letter, each note describing his trip at sea, asks his mom to use his first allotment check for Christmas gifts, and when he expects to get more mail. The letter ends with him in England and the first location he visited is redacted. The letter is signed "Well, cheerio, Buddy." The air mail envelope is postmarked U. S. Army Postal Services A. P. O., November 10, 1944 and includes and Army Examiner ink stamp. A red six cent United States Postage stamp is in the upper right corner.
