Description
This handwritten letter, dated May 11, 1943, is written from W. N. Bogan Jr. in St. Petersburg, Florida where he is stationed for training to his father in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The letter complains about the lack of mail being forwarded to him from Camp Shelby, expresses how he is liking the camp in St. Petersburg, and describes the training he has been participating in. The letter goes on to describe how the camp is organized and what their routines are. The letter is written on Army Air Forces Technical Training Command stationary with the logo of gold wings over a silver and red star within a blue circle in the center. The envelope is postmarked twice. The first postmark is Saint Petersburg, Florida, may 13, 1943 where the letter was sent. The second postmark is Baton Rouge, Louisiana, May 18, 1943 where it was forwarded to West Point, Mississippi.
