Description
This handwritten letter, dated May 12, 1943, is written from W. N. Bogan Jr. in St. Petersburg, Florida where he is stationed for training to his mother, Catherine F. Bogan in West Point, Mississippi. The letter complains about the lack of personal time in the army and what the usual schedule is like. The letter goes on to describe his acceptance into the Naval Air Corps. The letter is written on Army Air Forces Technical Training Command stationary with the logo of gold wings over a silver and red star within a blue circle in the center. The envelope is postmarked Saint Petersburg, Florida, May 12, 1943 and "Free" is handwritten in the space typically reserved for the postage stamp.
