Description
This color postcard features two women seated on the steps of the seawall between the open water and the road. A pier and pier house are seen in the distance and trees are on the right side behind the street and seawall. The title, "Seawall or Road Protection Project, Biloxi, Miss." is in the upper right of the card. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Biloxi, Mississippi, November 25, 1949. The description in the upper left reads "The huge concrete seawall protects the Old Spanish Trail Beach Boulevard at Biloxi and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast from erosion by Gulf of Mexico waters. The Harrison County seawall cost $3,500,00." The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mrs. Fred Hellier in Portland, Maine.
