Description
This postcard features a black and white image of a logging scene near Wiggins, Mississippi, with three men leaned against a large log in front of a teem of oxen and two men seated on top of a large log to the right. A large log is seen in the front of the men and a line of bare trees is seen behind them. The title of the card is printed beneath the bottom edge of the card with the publisher's name printed beside it. An inscription is written sideways in a white space on the right edge of the card. The back of the card is addressed to Mr. Earl Reed in East Chicago, Indiana in care of Haller Reed, Druggist. The card is postmarked Wiggins, Miss., November 9, 1912 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [on the front] Bought good matched lumber suitable for floor siding proof for $12.00 for 1000. our shack will bome about $15. and the house about $100. neighbors are fine. We worked in our shirt sleeves all day. Ed [on the back] 11/8--12 Dear friend, Well here we are got one load of lumber hauled out to the farm another load in th emorning and then building operation. Fine warm weather oranges nearly ripe. roses and violets in full bloom more news later. Ed. [sic]
