Description
This postcard features a black and white illustration of men standing among large cotton bales on the wharf in Gulfport, Mississippi. Buildings are on either side of the men and cotton and a large electrical tower is directly behind them. The tile of the card is printed beneath the bottom edge of the image and the date, 2/4/09, is written in the upper right corner. The back of the card is not addressed to anyone but an inscription is written on the left half of the card.
Transcription
Feb 24/09--We made a little outing trip today from Pass Christian party by carriage, partly by Electric cars and part by steam cars to Long Beach, Mississippi City, Beaworth Gulfpoort and Biloxi. Saw there wonderful piers--Vessels loading from all quarters of the world. Mostly with cotton cotton seed oil and Lumbor JCMC [sic]
