Description

This postcard features a color illustration of the Catholic Church and the Dulion Mercantile Company's store building, both located on the corner of a street in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Catholic church, on the left, is a Gothic style building with arched windows and a flat tower on the right front corner. The T. P. Dulion Mercantile Company building is a three story building with ornate moldings, arched details at the entrance and above the second story windows. A tower like structure is a the right corner of the roof. The title of the card is printed along the top edge of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Miss Josephine Bauch in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The card is postmarked Biloxi, Mississippi, February 23, 1909 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

155 Benachi Ave. Biloxi, Miss 2-20-09 Dear Coz Am having just a dandy time here. Expect to be here three months. Am going to new Olreans, tomorrow to the Mardi Gras. Expect to have a good time went 17 miles out in the ociean sat. to Horn Island got some pretty shells [and] sea bass and sunburt. write to me to. [sic]
