This postcard features a black and white photograph of a group of basic and technical school students in a formation during a Saturday review Keesler Field (Keesler Air Force Base) in Biloxi, Mississippi. Two airplanes and a large building are pictured behind the students. A Greensboro, North Carolina postmark, dated August 12, 1946, is on the back of the card and "free" is written in the space reserved for the postage stamp. A note written from Dewey to Mrs. Myrtle A. Ballenger in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia.

Capt. Dewey C. Ballenger [address] Aug 13 1946. Dear Mom, Just a line before leaving here. We are headed for Calf. [and] then we will ship to Guam. It looks like I will have to get me a black girlfriend. ha! Ha! Don't know how long we stay in Guam or Calf. Will write again when I get time. Dewey
