Description
This color postcard features a large white building with a wraparound porch and a cupola in the center of the roof. The building sits atop a hill and a set of white steps leads up the hill from the sidewalk. Trees are in front of the building, partially obscuring it. The title along the top left reads "Matty Hersee Hospital, Meridian, Miss." A date is handwritten in the upper right corner. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green once cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Meridian, Mississippi, December 7, 1916. the card is inscribed and the date is written above the postmarked, as well as, above the postage stamp. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Mamie Etheredge in Montgomery, Alabama.

[front of the postcard] Sa 7 Dec 1916 [back of the postcard] 12/7/16 Dear Aunt Mamie I region you haven't had time to answer. Well none of us are feeling well. Little Brother and Grace are getting along all right. Papa is in New Orleans and Mama is going to see him if she gets a chance. Well Grandpa Barfoot is learning the town fine. I hope mama can go to New Orleans if we can take care of her she will go. Well guess I will close. Yours lovingly Laurie [?] [sic]
