Description
This postcard features a black and white image of the three story Hotel Macon in Macon, Mississippi. The hotel features ornate porch columns and balcony railings. The two wide dormers on the roof feature ornate moldings and rails. Men are pictured standing in the yard and on the porch of the hotel and young trees appear to be supported by wood crate structures. The title of the card is printed beneath the bottom edge of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. Alice Jaquays in Pellstor, Michigan. The card is postmarked Macon, Miss. March 3, 1909 and the top half of a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. Macon Miss. Mar. 3 09 Am leaving today for Brownsville Texas. Have had a fine time on the plantation. Arthur [sic]
