Description

This postcard features color illustrations of five scenes from West Point, Mississippi set within the depiction of a purple flower with a woman in the center. The images are, from left top clockwise, Court Street, New public school building, Hotel Holt, Confederate Monument, and Main Street. The title of the card is printed in the bottom right corner of the card. The back of the postcard is addressed to Miss Carrie Foster in Birmingham, Alabama. The card is double postmarked for West Point, Miss. and Birmingham, Ala. on top of each other, dated July 1909. A green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card. The card is inscribed on the left half. [see transcription field]

Transcription

Wonder what you are doing tonight. [?] wish I was over there. I know we would have a dandy time. Rec'd your card several days ago. That lake sure looks good to me. How are you these days any way? Drop me a card. J.M. [sidewasy along the left edge] Now don't forget my Hearts. [sic]
