Description

This postcard features a color illustration of the First Baptist Church in Columbus, Mississippi. The church is depicted as a two story brick building with four white columns across the front porch and a five section white and red steeple. A fence surrounds the side of the church with trees within the fenced portion of the yard. A sidewalk and trees line the front of the church. The title of the card is printed along the top right of the image. The back of the postcard is addressed to Miss Glady's McGeorge in Baltimore, Maryland. The card is postmarked Columbus, Miss., April 3, 1909. An inscription is written sideways on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

Transcription

Dear G. Your letter to Uncle which left your city Apr 1st 11 oclock a.m. just rec'd Sat at noon delivery. I wonder if its going to take our little girl [??] to come home. I hope not. I think Fannie has it in her [?] that you are coming down now was planning this move how she was going to clear up for Usia G. I have finished your letter--blue checked percale you had at my opening beets. I think I will keep it till you come as its only a [??] suit and you probably would not need ti then. Uncle was so pleased at your aproaching homecoming. [sic]
