Description
This postcard features a black and white image of the Columbus Mississippi City Hall. The building is a white stone or brick two story structure with arched windows on the first floor and a small balcony beneath the center window on the second story. People are seen standing on the front steps and the sidewalk in front of the building. An inscription is written across the top of the image. The back of the postcard is addressed to Miss Gladys McGeorge in Baltimore, Maryland, though the Baltimore address has been marked through and Columbus, Mississippi is written to the side of it. The card is postmarked twice: Columbus, Miss. June 3, 1909 and Baltimore, Maryland, June 9, 1909. A green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card. An inscription is written sideways on the left side of the card. [see transcription field]
