This postcard features a color illustration of the Convalescent cottages at the mental health hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. The cottage on the left is a three story, red brick structure. Other red brick structures are partially obscured by leafy green trees. The title of the card is printed along the bottom of the image. The back of the postcard is addressed to Prof. A. G. West in San Antonio, Texas. The card is postmarked Meridian, Mississippi, June 17, 1909 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
Jun 17 1909 Prof. West I received your pretty card and was glad to hear from you. I would have wrote sooner but had to wait till mother send your address. I am having a fine time and don't know when I will be at home. Lydia Koch
