Description
This postcard features a black and white image of the Jefferson County, Mississippi Courthouse in Fayette, Mississippi, a large, Gothic style building with a tall, round clock tower in the center and two short round towers with angular roofs. People are pictured on the front steps. Trees are in front of the building. The title of the card is printed below the image. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. P. G. Jenkins in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Fayette, Mississippi, 1908 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written sideways on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
Transcription
Dear Mrs. Jenkins I have been trying to get time to write to you. I went to Jackson to the State Teacher's Association. Friday we had memorial Day. That afternoon went to Bro. C's. Luey has typhoid fever. Left her yesterday afternoon. I think she will soon be all right. She still has fever. Mamie had her little ones are there. I heard you wer coming to commencement. Are you? I hope you are. I will be so glad to see you. I sent you a Chronicle with [?] Be sure to come. M. A. N.
