Description
This color postcard features the front angle view of a white naval cruiser on the open water. A gold and white crest is on the front of the hull at the bow. The title along the top of the card reads "1295--U. S. Protected Cruiser "Milwaukee." 600 officers and men. Length 424 feet. Main battery 14 guns." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard printed in the United States and provides publisher information, as well as, indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right and the card is postmarked June 1, 1910, Trans clk. The top portion of the postmark is missing. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mrs. S. C. Fauver in Bangor, Wisconsin.

Seattle. My dear Grandma. Your gift was received the night before the wedding and I carried it. I can't half tell you how pleased I was to get it and to think you spent hours and hours making it or me. I think you gem for it. We leave in the morning. Will write you a letter when we get tomome[sic] for your J. D. Mrs. F. Stevenson
