Description

This color postcard features a ship's mast set into the ground with several sailor's in white uniforms climbing and/or standing on it while a naval officer in a dark blue uniform watches. The title in the upper left reads "U. S. Cadets. Yard and Rope Drill." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green postage stamp is in the upper right and the card is postmarked Danielson, Connecticut, June 28, 1911. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mr. Rae D. Wood in Wickford, Rhode Island.

D. C. Wednesday June 28. 11 Your letter received yesterday. Bess has not worked the post two Saturday's so never received my letter until the 26. I address her letters Louis Stern and Co., Providence, R. I. Everything is O.K. Your father is excited for good weather to mow the grass.
