Description

This color postcard features a naval cruiser with four funnels/stacks in the center, one of which is emitting black smoke. A United States flag is flying from the stern of the ship. The title along the top of the card reads "U. S. Armored Cruiser "Colorado." 800 Officers and Men. Length 502 feet. Main Battery 18 Guns." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information, as well as, indication for correspondence and address placement. A green once cent postage stamp is placed sideways in the upper right corner. The card is postmarked twice--once for Los Angeles, May 11, 1908 and once for La Farge, Wisconsin, May 15, 1908. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Alma Sandvigan in La Farge, Wisconsin.
