Description
This color postcard features a naval battleship on the water that appears to be docked. The title along the top of the card reads "1279--U. S. Battleship "Kentucky." 686 Officers ad men. Length 368 feet. Main Battery 22 guns." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked San Francisco, May 15, 1908. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mrs. Alex Percy in Gold Hill, Nevada.

San Francisco 5-15-08. Mrs. Mary Percy: Gold Hill, Nev. Dear Aunt Mary. I suppose you received word from sister Bessie that we will call on you on or way home. We leave tomorrow the 16th and if we don't receive word from home we will be in G. Hill on Sunday. Yours Truly John Wyckoff
