    This interview is with Robert G. Clark of Ebenezer, Holmes County, Mississippi. Mr. Clark has served in the Mississippi House of Representatives since 1967. He was the first black elected to that body since the years of Reconstruction. In 1982 and 1984 Mr. Clark ran for United States Congress. In 1982 he lost the election by only 2,500 votes to Webb Franklin. He was defeated by a slim margin in 1984; also by Webb Franklin. Mr. Clark was allowed to review the transcript for accuracy.
