Description

This postcard is a color illustration of the rear yard of the E. C. Maloney residence in Biloxi, Mississippi which features a gazebo built in the middle of a fountain pool accessed by an arched bridge where a man in a suit and hat is depicted as standing. The walkway leading to the fountain and gazebo is lined by small bushes. The yard is enclosed by a fence and trees can be seen in the yard and beyond. Another gazebo and other garden structures are depicted in the distance. The title of the card is printed along the bottom of the image. The publisher, "Grant's Drug Store" is printed in the lower left corner. Some scribble is written above the gazebo in the image. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. HM Pitcher in Memphis, Tennessee. The card is postmarked Biloxi, Miss., February 21, 1909 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
