This postcard features a color illustration of the Mexican Gulf Hotel in Pass Christian, Mississippi, a three story Spanish Colonial style hotel with arched windows, a curved portico supported by four white columns, two towers on either side of the portico. The side of the hotel wraps around with a porch and second floor balcony. Trees in the lawn and at the street partially obscure portions of the hotel. The title of the card is printed in white along the bottom edge beneath the image. The back of the card is addressed to James Haven in Chesterfield, Missouri and the card is postmarked Pass Christian, Mississippi, March 16. A green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and an inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

March 16th Dear Jms Haven we are so in love with Pass Christian and this hotel that we have got to stay a [?] The woods are all hard while shell roads are just there or from steps down from this hotel on one can go on the Pier out in the Gulf. Have been listening to a mocking bird singing night by the porch. Anna B. [sic]
