This legal document states the requirements for filing for a new trial in the case of Correll et al. v. McDaniel et al. in which a will is being contested as invalid. The first page of the documents states what affidavits are allowable and the last page is two statements of provisions as how the will would be found valid or invalid. The middle page is blank except for one illegible word near the top of the page. The document is undated though the other filings on the case were filed in 1855.

French serves as Edwards' resignation from his seat as a member of the French General Assembly of Sangamon County, Illinois. The back of the letter contains a summary of the letter and addresses the letter to Gov. French, Springfield, Ill. Some notes are written in pencil at the bottom of the front of the letter noting that Edwards was Lincoln's brother-in-law at whose home he and Mrs. Lincoln were married. A note written in pencil along the edge of the back of the letter appears to archivist notes.

Meeting notes, Trustees of Charles Dresser, et all February 30, 1849
These notes, dated February 3, 1849 in Springfield, Illinois, document the meeting of the Trustees of [Ishods?] in a township wherein an application is being heard and considered in support of a school in the northeast part of the township. The trustees ordered a district to be formed and informed the boundaries. The notes are signed by Charles Dupree, Silas M. Robbinson, and M. Hebron, trustees. The blue paper is damaged along the edges and creased.
