Courthouse, Starkville, Mississippi
This postcard features a color illustration of the Oktibbeha County Courthouse in Starkville, Mississippi, a two story, red brick building with a dome shaped clock tower and a gabled roof. Four, two story, white columns flank the entrance and aside entrance on the left of the building has a one story column on each side of the door.. A small fence encloses the courthouse and a hook style lamp post is in front of the courthouse. The title of the card is printed in the upper left of the image and pink and green florals on a yellow background are illustrated on each end of the card. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. William Folnoble in Newport, New York. A brief inscription on the upper left of the card reads "Very warm here 94 in the shade" [sic] and "Charles M." is signed at the bottom center of the card. The card is postmarked Starkville, Miss., May 31 and a red, two cent George Washington postage stamp is placed in the upper right.

This black and white picture postcard features J. H. Harris Mercantile Company, with yoked oxen at cotton time in 1912, featuring many of the citizens of this small town. John Henry Harris was a prominent Newton County merchant. "J. H. Harris" is handwritten across the top of the mercantile. The mercantile is a white building with two arched roof elevations and "J. H. A windows is to the left and entrance doors are to the right. The brick trim above the windows, wide entrance, and double door entrance are in a curved pattern. The signs on the building front read W. S. Mustin over the window and double door entrance and "Eclipse Livery Feed and Sale Stable" is over the open entrance. A man is standing at wide entrance and the man on the right with the horses is blurry. The back of the postcard is addressed to Miss Virginia Brown in Crystal Springs [spelled Chrystal Spring].
