This postcard features a black and white image of the driftwood, dead animals and fish that washed ashore after the Hurricane of 1947, presumably in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The sea wall can be seen to the right. The title of the card is printed in white along the bottom edge of the image. The storm which is most commonly called the 1947 Fort Lauderdale hurricane but is sometimes referred to as Hurricane George, the 1947 New Orleans hurricane, or the 1947 Pompano Beach (or Broward) hurricane, struck the Gulf Coast in September 1947.

Dukate Theatre Building, Biloxi, Mississippi
This postcard features a color illustration of the Dukate Theatre Building in Biloxi, Mississippi, a red, two story building with arched windows and doors on both floors, awnings over the rectangular windows in the center of the first floor. White molding surrounds the arches and line the top floor. A banner reading "SKYDOME" is strung between utility poles on either side of the road at the theatre. A dark, two story building with a balcony on the second floor is to the left of the theatre and other buildings are to the right. Street car rails can be seen on the road in front. The title of the card is printed in the upper right corner of the image. Located at 760 Howard Avenue (now 760 Vieux Marché), Dukate’s Theatre opened as a playhouse on July 4, 1899, and in 1910 began to advertise movies.

A brief paragraph on the back of the card provides the following history on the courthouse: "The Harrison County Court House was destroyed by fire in 1916, and the new building was erected in 1917. The Monument on the left of the picture was erected in 1911 by the Daughters of the Confederacy in memory of the Confederate Dead."

The back of the car includes a brief paragraph describing the motel. "I'm at Hill's Motel, Picayune, Miss., 55 miles north of New Orleans, 64 miles south of Hattiesburg, Miss., on U. S. 11, 35 miles from the Gulf Coast. all rooms in this Motel are fully airconditioned, equipped with air-foam mattresses, beautiful furniture, ceramic tile baths with combination tub and shower, telephones, radios and service with a smile. Mississippi Centennial Exposition, Gulfport, Mississippi, December 10th, 1917 to June 10th, 1918, The Coliseum
This is an official post card of the Mississippi Centennial Exposition featuring the Coliseum, built in the same architectural style as all the exposition buildings--a long, structure with decorative moldings along the roof and arched windows and doors. Flags fly from the roof raised decorative moldings. Flower-lined walkways lead up to the building. The title at the top of the card notes the exposition was supposed to last from Dec. 10, 1917 to June 10, 1918. The title identifying the Manufacturers Building is at the bottom edge of the card.

Mr. Angelo in Action Putting the Personal Touch to All Orders, Gulfport, Mississippi
This postcard features a black and white image of six chefs in the kitchen at Angelo's place, a restaurant in Gulfport, Mississippi. A long butcher block counter is in the center of the kitchen and five of the chefs are standing behind it while the chef in front holds a plate of food with a ladle poised over it. The other chef or kitchen worker is standing in the left side of the kitchen in front of row of cabinets with the phrase "Cleanliness is our Motto" painted on it. All of the counter tops have plates, dishes of food, pans of lobster, bowls, and other kitchen tools and vessels on them. A pot rack above the center counter displays various styles of pots and pans. The title of the card is printed in the bottom left of the image. Text advertising to "Dine at Angelo's Place" is printed in the upper left of the card, describing the food and atmosphere of the restaurant.
