Ship Island Lighthouse
This postcard features a color image of the Ship Island Lighthouse on Ship Island off the coast of Mississippi in the Mississippi sound. Three Destructive Walls of Water Rolling In, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi
This postcard features a wall of water washing ashore from the Gulf Of Mexico into Biloxi, Mississippi during the 1947 Hurricane. Trees can be seen swaying in the background behind the wall of water. The storm which is most commonly called the 1947 Fort Lauderdale hurricane but is sometimes referred to as Hurricane George, the 1947 New Orleans hurricane, or the 1947 Pompano Beach (or Broward) hurricane, struck the Gulf Coast in September 1947.
